Description

David G Proudfoot (engineer), dated 1896. Single span plate girder canal bridge over Union Canal; pierced arcaded cast-iron parapet, ashlar end piers with ball finials. Soffit of 7 riveted beams. Squared and snecked sandstone rubble abutments with droved dressings. Commemorative panel to NE pier.
