Description

Early 18th century rectangular-plan compartmentalised walled garden to SW of house with reconstructed S wall, 1875-1881. Rubble walls with some harl pointing and ashlar coped at intervals. Rusticated gatepiers with pulvinated friezes and cornice. Brick lining to certain S facing walls; lean-to hot-houses to centre of N wall. N wall in part collapsed.

Statement of Interest

In poor condition (1992). A fine early 18th century Sundial to S of garden, is listed separately. For further information on the estate, see listing for Newliston House.
