Description

Circa 1830. Single storey, 3-bay cottage with lower single storey, 2-bay wing to N. Rubble with ashlar margins. Rectangular-plan.

E ELEVATION: door with 2-pane letter box fanlight at centre. Window on either side. 2 smaller windows on lower store. range.

S ELEVATION: blank.

W & N ELEVATIONS: modern additions.

Plate glass sash and case windows. Red pantiled roof; tall, square, rounded coped gablehead stacks; centre stack has original terracotta can. Ashlar coping to skews.

Statement of Interest

In close relationship to former Humbie Quarry, which it probably served. It is listed for relationship to the quarry and as a good example of a traditional cottage type.
