Hugh Baird, engineer, circa 1820. 5 tall semi-circular arches supported on battered rock-faced piers. Dressed voussoirs. Coursed stone parapet with ashlar string course at base; ashlar coping. Iron parapet railings broken by piers rising as square, coped, ashlar dies between railings.

The Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal was built between 1818-1820, designed by Hugh Baird. The aqueduct is partly in West Lothian.
