Hugh Baird, engineer. Circa 1820. Single span bridge. Coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings. Segmental-arch bridge with hog's back profile; dressed voussoirs and soffit. Advanced keystone with '11' inscribed. String course. Plain clairvoyee railings between parapet walls, ashlar slab coping.
The Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal was designed by Hugh Baird and was built from 1818-22. The bridge is located at rear NNE of Hermiston House and is no longer in use. The bridge is identical to Hermiston Bridge (no 12) to W.
