Description

John Russell Jun, 1802; alterations 1884. 4-storey and attic 5-bay tenement, former counting house/office, now public house at ground floor. Cream sandstone, droved ashlar with polished ashlar ground floor (painted) and dressings, coursed rubble to rear. Pilastraded and corniced shop front with chamfered arrises and awning box (operational); cill course at 1st floor; eaves cornice with lead-coped blocking course.

W (FRONT) ELEVATION: corniced and pilastered doorway to common stair to outer left, narrow 6-pane fanlight, ashlar panel above; single windows above. 6-bay pilastrade to right (3-3) with former door in bay to right now blocked as window, regular single windows to floors above.

2 rectangular slate-hung bipartite dormers.

E (REAR): single windows; small rectangular dormer to outer left.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof; apex and cross wall stacks.

INTERIOR: former counting house/office to right (1884) (now restaurant and public house) with boarded dado and boarded ceiling with lattice pattern.
