Description

Sir William Chambers designed 1760, built 1763-8.
HOUSE 2-storey, 5-window main front with fluted tetrastyle
Corinthian portico, 4-window flanks, top balustrade. Fine
quality interior work, large stair hall with branching
flights.
OFFICES 2-storey pedimented centre with cupola linked to
2-storey advance wings, corridor link to main house.

Statement of Interest

Scheduled Monument. Built for James 8th Earl of Abercorn. The

park is said to have been laid out by Capability Brown (Inv)
