Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, 6-bay symmetrical, pair of classical houses. Lightly stugged, cream sandstone ashlar; rubble sandstone to sides and rear. Base course; cill course to 1st floor windows; cornice and blocking course.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: round-arched doorways to outer bays; panelled doors; plate glass fanlight to No 11, small-paned fanlight to No 12; single windows above. Single windows to both floors in remaining bays.

S ELEVATION: leaded glass stair window between floors.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; coped wallhead stack without cans to N; rendered, coped mutual stack with moulded cans; truncated, coped wallhead stack with moulded cans to S.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND PEDESTRIAN GATE: low coped boundary wall to street; replacement railings; higher rubble, coped mutual boundary walls. Panelled mutual piers to outer angles of boundary wall. Pedestrian gate adjoining house to N; carriage gate with modern garage behind to S.
