Circa 1875. 4-storey with attic. Baronial corner tenement block with shops at ground. Squared, and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Cornice above shops; corbel table at 3rd floor, extended down to 2nd floor for 2 bays on both main elevations; crowstepped gables; eaves cornice; long and short quoins; chamfered reveals.
S (ROSENEATH TERRACE) ELEVATION: advanced altered shopfronts at ground floor with segmental-arched openings and lintel foliate cornice. 4-bay under 2 gables; near-blank bay (with round-arched window at attic) to outer right; bipartite windows in bay outer left, in corbelled panel at 3rd floor with cornice and finialled French pavilion roof; single windows regularly disposed in remaining bays.
E (ARGYLE PLACE) ELEVATION: altered shopfronts at ground floor with segmental-arched openings and original cast-iron capitals encased. 5-bay with 6th recessed bowed corner bay above shops to left. Bipartite windows to corner bay; deep cornice and conical roof with round-arched gable dormer. Bipartite windows in bay to inner right, 3rd floor window breakig eaves in crowstepped dormerhead. Single windows in remaining bays; round-arched window in gablehead to outer left; 3rd floor windows at 3rd and 5th bays breaking eaves in finialled pedimented dormerheads.
4-pane sashs and case glazing. Grey slate roof; lead flashing, corniced wallhead, gablehead and mutual stacks; moulded cans, some original rainwater goods.
INTERIORS (SHOPS): elaborate decorative plasterwork; capitalled cast-iron columns. Tenements not seen (1990).
Low saddleback wall with cast iron railings to Roseneath Terrace.
Forms continuous irregular terrace with 35-43 (inc) Argyle Place, 1-5 (inc) Argyle Park Terrace and 5-15 (odd) Roseneath Terrace.
