Description

Medieval entrance arch; restored 1857. Rubble with
ashlar copes to crenellation. Pointed arch; arrow slits
to E. Portions of former College of Cathedral walling
attached; also freestanding fragment in Pansport Place.

Statement of Interest

Guardianship Monument.

Pans Port or East Port, entrance to College or Chanonry of

the Cathedral which contained the Manses. Name derived from

near meadowland called "Le Pannis".
