Description

William Reid, probably using a William Robertson design,
1887. Classical; single storey 3 bays with advanced centre
pedimented portico and pedimented gables (facing
Pluscarden Road and Hospital). Finely hammered ashlar;
polished ashlar dressings. Moulded lugged architraves to
all windows; eaves cornice; single storey coursed
rubble additions to rear. Corniced stack; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Lodge is not marked on Wood's Town Map of 1822, nor on 1870

OS. The very old fashioned design suggests that a 50 year

old scheme was the basis for this lodge.

Former Item 181 (1981 Revised List).
