Description

David Barclay, architect; circa 1900. Terrace of 2-storey and
basement houses mainly with 2-bay elevations. Polished red
sandstone, stugged basement.
Steps oversailing basement at left, to doorpiece with
pilastered reveals, double leaf panelled door with
dentil-course and curvilinear timber lintel, glazed fanlight.
To left of door, single light sash. Above door bipartite
window. To right 2-storey 4-light canted window. Sash
windows; plate glass, upper sashes have small pane glazing
pattern. Continuous band courses over ground and at eaves.
Overhanging eaves supported on timber brackets.
Axial stacks, octagonal flues. Tile cresting and skews;
decorative skew-putts.
No 67: canted bay to ground floor 2 small leaded windows to
each floor.
Variation in detail of flanks to Nos 57 (115 Dowanhill
Street) and 67.
Wallhead stack. Ashlar parapet to steps supporting cast-iron
railings. Ashlar retaining/boundary wall to front gardens.
