Description

Clarke and Bell, circa 1890. 3 bays with canted angle to
Bothwell Street, 3 to West Campbell Street, 4 storeys and
attic. Renaissance detailed red sandstone commercial
building on narrow corner site.
Elaborately carved doorpiece at angle. Continuous cornice
over each floor (ground to 3rd) mullioned to 3rd, cill
courses to 1st, 2nd, 3rd; 3rd floor cornice forms attic
cill course. Corner domed treatment.
WEST CAMPBELL STREET ELEVATION: elaborate shaped gable
with segmental crowning pediment with boldly detailed
flanking stacks over wide advanced centre. Bipartite
segmentally pedimented dormers break pierced balustrade.
S bay canted oriel, 1st to dormer. Slate roof.
