Description

Circa 1830. Range of classical houses stepped in slope altered and added to in conversion to commercial premises. 3 storeys and basement, 12 bays arranged 6-6. Basements altered. Painted ashlar. 3 boldly projecting corniced block porticos with Ionic columns with Greek key pedestals, arched with panelled spandrels, at head of steps, parapet walls to platt. Ground floor keyblocked arcade with shallow pilasters;

recessed windows with moulded cills. All windows sash and case; some 12-pane glazing. 1st floor windows in architraves and corniced, pedimented in central bays of each section; 2nd floor windows architraved. Eaves cornice; blocking course. Axial stacks.
