Description

T S Cordiner, 1954-7. Cruciform-plan church with flank to street. Faced in red brick with concrete detailing; huge triptych sculpture (subject; St Thomas) in liturgical east gable (sanctuary is lit from large windows in its flanks); flat-lintelled windows, tall, with metal glazing bars; entrance at left hand side of street front, baptistry opening into vestibule projects from gable. Slated roofs. Boundary wall to street mostly rock-faced red ashlar (gatepiers are brick), 1950's iron railings.
