Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay symmetical villa.

Painted stugged rubble, ashlar dressings. Base course, gutter moulded as cornice; quoin strips; chamfered arrises, basket-arched lintels to single and bipartite windows.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: flight of 4 steps to fanlit panelled door to centre, half-glazed vestibute door, decorative gabled timber porch supported by thin columns on pedestals with bell capitals, finial. Bipartite windows flanking, 3 symmetrically disposed windows to 1st floor.

E (SINCLAIR STREET/SIDE) ELEVATION: 2 widely spaced windows to ground and 1st floor, including blind window to left at ground.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: stair window and single storey service wing projecting from centre, boarded door to W side.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: window to outer left; modern garage abutting.

Mostly 6-pane sash and case windows with 4-pane to lower sashes.

Piended grey slate roof; rendered corniced end stack to right, tall cans.

INTERIOR: cornices to hall and reception rooms at ground; black marble chimneypiece to dinning room.

PIERS: chamfered rendered piers with moulded caps, iron gates.
