Description

18th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan, symmetrical house with stop-chamfered SE angle. Painted cement-rendered and lined at ground; harled above. Aproned cills at ground.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3 widened, evenly disposed windows at ground; cast inscription over central window, 'SOL DEO GLORIA'; modern part-glazed door in stop-chamfered angle to outer right. 3 evenly disposed windows at 1st floor; triangular thistle motif set close under eaves above central window.

2-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st floor; large shop windows at ground. Grey slate roof; stone skews; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: converted as shop at ground; unseen above.

Statement of Interest

The building has an unusual chamfered angle, possibly to allow horse-drawn traffic to turn the corner easily.
