Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 4-bay (grouped 3-1 at ground) house with classical details, shop at ground. Cream sandstone rubble, squared coursed and stugged to N elevation. Base and eaves courses, architraved windows to ground, stop-chamfered with ovolo moulding.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: corniced and pilastered doorpiece off-centre left with fanlit panelled door. Large shop windows to right and left, former door to outer right now blocked as window. 4 symmetrical windows at 1st floor.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: 3 bays with projecting rectangular stair block.

Modern glazing at ground; sash and case windows with plate glass to lower sashes and 6-pane to upper sashes at 1st floor. Grey slate roof, ashlar coped skews with skew blocks, sandstone corniced stacks to gables. 2 piended corniced slate-hung dormers with rounded angles to rear.
