Description

1936, Lorimer and Matthew, hall and ancillary accommodation

fitted on triangular corner site. Gabled, piended and

semi-conical slate roofs, snecked rubble with raked joints

symmetrical about axis through site corner. SE facade with

central crowstepped gable with tall architraved and balconied first floor window above architraved doorway flanked by minute windows with Lorimer-type depressed ogee heads.

Gables flanked by lean-to porches within re-entrant angles

with piended roofed single storey wings with tall dormer

headed windows with curved gablets, repeated on return ends.

All windows with small paned sashes. Street elevations -

hall has 3 dormer headed windows each side and apsidal

end, below crowstepped gable, with dormer headed end window

flanked by smaller windows. Piended roofed wings have 3

architraved windows on flanks and 1 on ends. Larger windows

sash, all with rectangular leaded lights. Hall barrel

vaulted internally, wood panelled up to cill level, with

with proscenium arched platform in apse.
