Description

2-storey farmhouse composed of piend roofed early 19th century building to S, added to 18th century gabled block with 2 lower gabled wings adjoining at right angles to N. Harled with grey ashlar dressings, painted margins.

S ELEVATION: symmetrical 3 bays. Projecting porch at ground with segmentally arched window and blocking course; door to W side with consoled pediment and carved simple shield; panelled door. 2 flanking windows, 3 in 1st floor.

W ELEVATION: full-height canted 3-light ashlar window added to return elevation of later house. 2 bays to recessed earlier building.

N ELEVATION: various gabled or piend-roofed extensions, central probably 18th century. 12-pane glazing pattern throughout. Ashlar coped skews. End and gable head stacks, with 2 later raised in brick. Slated roofs to main house. Concrete pantiles to N cottages.

GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: square, pyramid coped gatepiers to W and S driveways. Quadrant walls to S and rubble boundary walls.
