Description

Circa 1870. Single storey and attic house with gable end to street. Modern harl, rendered margins, some tooled rubble dressings, part battered base course. Centre door; gabled dormers break wallhead in outer bays; ground and lst floor windows in N gable; modern timber sash and case windows. Coped end stacks; slate roof; pottery ridge.

No 2 Main Street may have been raised to 2 storeys from early 19th century single storey cottage. It is one of a group of gable end cottages to Main Street, wherein lies its interest. It forms a

terraced pair with 3 Main Street.
