Description

Circa 1830 incorporating earlier work. Former Episcopal Parsonage. 2-storey, L-plan house of 2 bays with late 18th century wing projecting to road. Rubble, painted ashlar margins and dressings. Doorway in re-entrant angle below console bracketted cornice; similar cornice to

flanking window at right. 2 circa 1900 pedimented dormers breaking wallhead. Wing at left, probably late l8th century and allegedly serving as former Episcopal Chapel; single storey with modern swept dormer. Later harled single storey lean-to at S gable with doorway.

Coped end masonry stacks; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Wing, said to be former Episcopal Chapel, appears on 1802 plan of Portsoy. In 1870 14 South High Street was Episcopal Church Parsonage.
