Description

Later Victorian. Plain but (highly) idiosyncratic detached
villa with piended roofs at odd angles, probably by John
Allan. 2-storey and attic snecked rubble canted bay through
both floors to left, bipartite at both floors to right: 2
timber-faced dormers. Lower 2-storey and attic rear wing with
very steep piended roof behind single storey front wing on
left, set-back slim columned porch with platformed roof in
re-entrant angle of lower 2-storey rear wing on right.
Curious treatment of main roof with steep piends gambrelled
by bold chimney stacks, unusual glazing with band of 3 small
panes at bottom of upper sash. All roofs slated.

Statement of Interest

Part of Kings Park Conservation Area group. The area is

an outstanding early to late Victorian villa development with

remarkably few later additions.
