Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay house in long terrace in Stonehaven's New Town. Snecked rubble with stugged quoins and raised cills.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern door to centre at ground, windows (with shutters) in flanking bays and regular fenestration to first floor giving way to polygonal-roofed canted dormers over outer bays.

Modern non-traditional glazing throughout. Broad coped ashlar stacks with thackstanes and polygonal cans; ashlar-coped skews with blocked skewputts.

Statement of Interest

No 46 is incorporated into one of the surviving early terraces in Cameron Street built on the grid iron plan laid out by Robert Barclay of Ury in 1797 on the estate of Arduthie which had been purchased by his father in 1759.
