Description

Built 1816, 2-storey and dormerless attic, 3-bay manse.

Rubble walling, raised painted angle and window margins. Central piend-roofed, rubble, single storey porch, also with raised angle margins. Flanking porch, tripartite windows, 3 single light windows to 1st. All windows sash and case with 4-pane glazing. Moulded eaves course. REAR ELEVATION: rubble with raised margins. To centre, 2-storey piend-roofed projecting bay with stone coped skews. To left projects single storey wing. Windows mostly sash and case with 4-pane glazing, some small pane glazing.

Single storey wings on gable ends. Flat sandstone skews, coped end stacks with octagonal cans, slate roofs. Bracketted cast-iron gutters.

Statement of Interest

The proportions of this house are slightly unusual; there is a wide space between lintel and eaves to give reasonable headroom in the attic; though the house does not appear to have been raised in height at any time.
