Description

Later 18th century; later alterations at ground. Symmetrical 3-storey 5-bay tenement on corner site with 3 cement shopfronts at ground flanking paired doors to upper floors. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. End bays with tripartite windows with blind outer lights. 3 bay return gable (stack removed).

Timber sash and case plate glass windows. Ashlar coped skews; grey slates.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.

Statement of Interest

A Group with 125 & 127 Rose Street as as a significant surviving part of the original fabric of Edinburgh?s New Town, one of the most important and best preserved examples of urban planning in Britain.
