Walter MacFarlane and Co, Saracen Foundry, Glasgow, 1888. Octagonal ogee-roofed cast-iron bandstand. 3-tier stone base supports 8 Ionic columns; each with leaf-moulded base on fluted pedestal. Hooped balustrade with Vitruvian scroll band; filigreed spandrel brackets above columns (spandrel at entrance has decorative centre shield as keystone). Copper ogee roof with decorative finial.
The bandstand was gifted by Louise Carnegie, wife of the Dunfermline-born millionaire, Andrew Carnegie.
