Possibly John Henderson, 1783 with later alterations. Rubble-coped, harl-pointed rubble sandstone wall to SE of walled garden (running parallel, along full width); angled ends; round-arched culverts to outer left and right.
An impressive ha-ha, set immediately to the SE of and probably contemporary with Amisfield walled garden - itself dated 1783 and described by McWilliam as '...the chief monument of 18th century neo-classicism in Lothian' (see separate list entry). A row of trees growing along the top of the ha-ha has partially destroyed its coping, whilst a ditch excavated along its entire length has apparently dislodged some of the lower stones (late 20th century).
