History

Early C19 and presumably contemporary with Nos. 6-10 (even) (qv). It is marked on the 1835 map, but not on the 1800 one. It is shown with the original timber 3-light windows and a pantiled roof in a photograph of 1860.

Exterior

The house is entered down a shared passage through the street door beside that of No. 6 and within the curtilege of that house.

Interior

Very slight cross beams are visible internally.

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special architectural interest as a pair of early C19 houses which, despite alteration, retain definite character, with strong group value in Hereford Road.
