History

Late C18 house believed to have been built in c1775. It was the manager's house of the Mill Street Tannery which closed in 1884 (plaque). It was converted into two apartments and greatly added to in like style in the late C20.

This house has no rear elevation.

Interior

Interior not inspected at resurvey, but it will have been altered when converted to two properties (see History).

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special interest as an externally well preserved late C18 house of definite character, which has additional interest for its connection with the Mill Street Tannery.
