History

One of a pair of mid C19 terraced cottages, near identical to No 2 and similar to No 1 Alpha Cottages.

Exterior

House, one of a pair with No 2. Painted stucco ground floor and roughcast first floor, with close eaved slate roof (cemented slate in 1977) and roughcast stack built into end-wall of Southsea, to right. Two storeys, 2 bays with hornless 12-pane sash to first floor left and ground floor right. First floor right canted oriel with 4-12-4-pane glazing, the centre light fixed, and moulded timber cornice with hipped roof. Arched doorway to ground floor left with C20 door and plain fanlight (4-panel door in 1977). Raised plinth.

Included as one of a pair of terraced cottages still with small-paned glazing.
