Exterior

History: The cottages are probably late C17-early C18, and were originally single storeyed, raised in height probably in the early C19.

Exterior: Box framed in square panels with timbers of thin scantling, and painted brick panelled infil. Raking queen strut truss exposed in gable end, the present roof line the result of raising the building in brick; slate roof with axial chimney. Doorway to left in thin gabled timber porch; 3 blocked windows, and a gabled dormer in the roof. Lower outbuilding alongside has axial stack.

The building is of interest as a small vernacular cottage which was originally single storeyed - a scale of dwelling rare in the immediate environs of the town.
