History

Shown on 1834 map, possibly contemporary with the 1820 Assembly Rooms.

Exterior

Late Georgian 2-storey attic and basement 7-window scribed cement render front. Hipped slate roof, wide bracket eaves and rubble chimney stacks; slate hung dormers, 2 to 11 with modern windows, the other to No 12 with twin horned sash windows. Small pane sash windows below, taller to ground floor. Hooded Doric doorcase to No 12 offset to right with fluted columns, panelled double doors and ogee traceried fanlight.

Cement render left side; similar doorcase with fluted pilasters to No 11. Rubble rear with dormers and sash windows with glazing bars; modern extension to No 12.

Interior

Interiors retain contemporary detail especially to No 12, formerly the residential part of the house. Bracket and paterae cornice to entrance hall, panelled soffit arch leads to openwell staircase with tall landing window; panelled shutters and doors, barley twist columns and reeded pilasters to firepieces, some with Gothick traceried firebacks. Fluted newel balusters to No 11.
