Exterior

Mid Cl9, the shelter shed range post-dates the other buildings which form part of the farmyard. Stone with slate roof. 5-bay arcaded lower storey, with segmental arches carried on brick piers. The bays are separated internally by cross walls, though some of these are of recent construction. Square loft openings above, with some ventilation slits. External staircase against gable wall to SE. King-post roof of standard Cl9 type.

Reasons for Listing

A good example of its type, and part of an intact early Cl9 courtyard farmstead.
