History

Earlier to mid C19 outbuilding, one of 3 around the farm courtyard at Bryn-rhos, a Penllergare estate farm. All originally were whitewashed and had hipped roofs, replaced with gabled roofs in late C19 probably. This range had stable to left and barn to right.

Exterior

Outbuilding, rubble stone with C20 tin-steel roof, stable to left has door between two windows, barn to right has broad opening between 2 vent loops. Openings all have cambered heads with stone voussoirs. Stable windows have been blocked in C20. S end wall has blocked unusual dovecote with round opening in centre within a ring of raised stone, and 6 blocked small openings with shelf below positioned around in hexagon. End gables are added, difference in stonework. Rear has blocked cart-entry to barn to left with vent loop each side. Corrugated-iron lean-to to right.

Interior

Interior not available for inspection.

Reasons for Listing
