History

Possibly C19 and considerably post-dating the industrial buildings of the mill. Not shown on the Tithe Map (1841). In later years the corn mill business was combined with farming.

Exterior

A building of two short ranges in tandem, in axe-dressed uncoursed masonry with the lower roof in slates with a tile ridge. The roof of the higher range is in corrugated sheeting. The two ranges are both timber framed and boarded on the north elevation.

Both ranges face north to the yard. The lower range at left has a central heck door and two windows. The wall is vertically boarded. Door centrally at rear.

The higher range also has a heck door centrally on the north side flanked by two windows and a loft hatch above. The wall is horizontally boarded. Opening in rear also but beneath a later informal roof which covers the space between this building and a Dutch barn [not listed] to the south. A short extension of the higher range at the west end at a higher level is a shed with doors to the north, facing a small walled enclosure reached from the bank of the mill leat.

Interior

Each range has two bays of cowstalls with feeding walks. The higher-roofed range has a loft.

Reasons for Listing

A farm building integral to a former combined industrial and agricultural property, listed also for group value with the mills of Felin Dolanog.
