History

Bridge of the earlier C19, over Dowlais brook, probably contemporary with the remodelling of the house in 1834-6 by T.H. Wyatt for R.J. Blewitt.

Exterior

Road bridge over stream, tooled sandstone. Each side has single arch with panelled cusped ashlar spandrels and grotesque mask keystone to segmental arch. Moulded string course broken forward over keystone, high parapet and roll-moulded coping. Parapet ends are turned out to octagonal end piers with parapet roll-moulding scrolled out on caps.

Reasons for Listing

Included as an attractive estate bridge of the earlier C19.
