History

Late C18 or early C19 terraced house, part of row of five two-bay houses Nos 77-87 marked on 1888 O.S. as Albion Terrace. Facade altered in late C19. At one time this house was No 39, occupied by James Griffiths in 1901 and by Miss Jenkins 1926.

Exterior

Terraced house, painted stucco with slate close-eaved roof and left end brick stack. Three storeys, two-window range, offset to left. Two renewed 9-pane sashes to top floor, renewed 12-pane sash to first floor left and larger 12-pane sash to ground floor left of centre. Late C19 canted oriel to first floor right with modillion cornice and 2-4-2-pane plate glass sashes. Arched doorway to right with recessed renewed 4-panel door with radiating-bar fanlight.

Interior

Interior not inspected. Said to have been much damaged in C20, since restored. Staircase at right angles to hall.

Included for its special architectural interest as part of the late Georgian terrace Nos 77-87 Hill Street.
