Milestone, C19. Ham stone pillar, cast iron plaque. Pillar 400 mm wide x
300 mm thick x 1 metre high; plaque 375 mmwide x 440 mm high, having
shouldered curved top and double cyma-recta base, and reads "Wincanton"
- on curve - "3/Castle Cary/3". This road was turnpiked by the Wincanton
Trust in 1798.
