Built in 1844 of Gault brick with stone dressings and rusticated quoins. Architect William Flint of Leicester. Ground floor has a tetrastyle portico with Greek Ionic columns. These support a painted entablature with dentil cornice. The columns are continued by engaged Corinthian columns (half the column is visible) flanked by Corinthian pilasters. On top is a painted modillion cornice and parapet with centre panel crowned by moulded scroll ornament and inscribed -Independent Chapel-. (Photo Feb 2008).
