Cottage. Circa mid C17 with C19 addition and altered in C20. Plastered cob and
rubble walls. Gable-ended slate roof. Brick stack at right gable end.
Plan: 2-room plan, turned into 1 room in C20 with fireplace in the right end wall;
it is possible that the house constitutes the hall and inner room of a larger house
of which the passage and lower room at the right-hand end have been demolished. C19
rear outshut added.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front. Probably C19 2-light casements
on 1st floor to centre and left and on ground floor to the left, C20 2-light
casements to the right on each floor. Gabled C20 porch to right of centre with
part-glazed door behind. C20 hardboard to left to passageway leading to rear of the
house.
Interior: original fireplace survives with chamfered and ogee-stopped wooden
lintel. Ceiling beams and roof timbers replaced in C19 or early C20.
