A Grade II Listed Building in Arlingham, Gloucestershire

The milestone can just be seen against the right hand side of this view. This was a crossing point of the River Severn for many hundreds of years. At low tide it was the ferryman’s duty to carry passengers over the mud. The river has changed and the mud and quicksand can be treacherous.
