Heming House

GV II

House. C16, altered C18 and C19; partly refronted C20.
Timber-frame with brick refronting; steeply pitched old tile
roof with brick rear stacks. 3-unit plan incorporating
formerly jettied cross-wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 3-window range. Brick cornice to centre
and right; wide eaves. Central recessed entrance has C20 door
and gabled canopy; jetty bracket exposed to left return.
Ground floor has 2 small segmental-headed windows with 3-light
casements; first floor has one window to former jetty with
3-light casement; 2 smaller windows with 2-light casements to
right. Casements have iron opening casements, one with shutter
pegs.
Wall studs and arched bracing exposed to first floor left
indicating jettied wing with underbuilding and rebuilt front
to right. Rear wing with cross-axial stack.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
