Unlike the main building, the lodge is in dire condition. A planning application for its demolition was supported by the Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland on the basis, that it did not contribute the architectural and environmental context of the main building, was not in itself of much value, was in poor condition and could open up an alternative access so making the premises more viable.
