Kingsand

House. C17 origin, with C19 and C20 alterations. Painted rubble, asbestos slate
roof with front lateral brick stack.
This is probably the original inner room of a 3-room and through passage house, rest
of house to left, is now Nos. 60 and 61 Fore Street (q.v.). An entrance has been
made to the right side, with room to front and rear left and stair set between the
rooms.
2 storeys and one window, ground floor has 120 pane sash and half-glazed door, first
floor 4-pane sash.
Interior: Passage to right has vertical panelling. Winder stair set laterally
between front and rear rooms, rising to attic level. Front room has 4-panelled
fielded door. The stair is a newel at attic level, 2-bay roof with one truss
visible, halved and principal rafters crossed at apex with side-pegged upper collar.
