Milestone. Early C19. Ham stone pillar, cast iron plaque; the stone about
400 mm wide by 200 mm thick and about 600 mm high, slightly segmental top; the
plaque 270 mm x 210 mm over-all, with double-curved top, reading '4/Yeovil', the
town name being set on the curve. This road never turnpiked, although it has
a series of milestones with plates similar to those of the Yeovil Trust (Bentley
J B and Murless B J Somerset Roads, Somerset Industrial Archaeological Society
1985).
