Milepost pier. Mid C19. Ashlar. End pier to wall. Square with pyramidal cap the sides of which are used as a milepost. Inscribed on the north face, Whittington I¼ miles Hexham 9 miles; and on the east face, Corbridge 6 miles Newcastle 15 miles.
