DYMOCK KNIGHT'S GREEN

5/77 Barn, Hill Farm, about 45m north of
the farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Late C17. Timber-framing on stone plinth, brick nogging
below, butt-jointed boarding above, covering woven wattle in some
top panels: corrugated asbestos roof. Three bays. Facade away
from yard: double boarded doors in centre to eaves, diagonal
boarding to right-hand door. Narrow panels each side to main
posts.
Internally curved braces to cross sill each side threshing floor,
centre cut out: doors opposite same width as threshing floor.
Down brace from wall post to bottom rail of top wall panel on sides
in wall framing 3 panels high. Tie beam trusses with angle struts:
2 pairs purlins, square ridge. Lean-to not of special interest.
Forms group with house and cider house (q.v.).
