UPAVON JARVIS STREET
SU 15 NW (south side)

2/163 No. 13 (Gisburn House)

House C17, and late C18-early C19. Cross wing timber framed with
brick and wattle and daub infill; main block of brick, all
thatched. Two storeys, the wing with gable to street, 2 bays.
Frame 3 panels high to ground floor, two to upper floor with corner
braces. Main block brick 3 bays with central entrance and flanking
rooms, probably a remodelling of an earlier framed block. Six-
panelled door with fanlight and bracketed canopy. Three-light
windows to ground floor, the left being sashed replacement, and
cambered brick arch. Two-light to first floor. Gable stacks, the
right stack embedded in the cross wing. C20 surgery added to left,
now a flat.
