SU 56 SW KINTBURY

16/3 Waterman's Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. C16 and 17 with C18 and C20 extensions and C19 facing. Brick
and timber frame with brick infill. Old tile roof half hipped to south,
gabled to north and catslide to west. North/south plan with C18 extension
to south, C20 extension to north and C19 cross gable to east. Two storeys,
C19 brick chimney off centre on ridge to north. East Elevation: one glazing
bar sash to C18 extension, one C19 glazing bar sash central in cross gable
and one C20 glazing bar sash to right. One C20 glazing bar sash to either
side of central C20 six panel door under flat hood. 2 light C19 casement
to right. North Elevation: C17 timber frame exposed in gable and wall
behind C20 extension. Barge board to gable has finial with carved pendant.
Interior: two bays of C17 timber framing exposed on upper floors with some
larger, earlier timbers in one partition. C17 chimney stopped off in roof
space on junction between C17 and C18 parts. C17 stair beside this
chimney.
